Thanks, Adam. Gwen and Jeff had me looking for replacements. I will put you down for the Sept 4 spot. I think I have the 7/24 date covered as well.

I'll take the Sept 4th spot from you Bill.
Lauri, if nobody else has claimed it, can you make sure Jeff is aware of the change?
thanks,
ADAM

  I like BBQ…

Speaking of JCHH, I will not be able to finish my rotation. If any of you IBU or Ames brewers would like to serve (it's a great time) you can take one of my upcoming spots. I am on the books for July 24th and September 4th. Let me know.

Welcome readers to this weeks edition of the JCHH. Get yourself primed for BBQ season this week! John Martin of the IBUs will be back, bringing his Smokey Schwartzbier and Burning Down the House American Red, both with hints of smoke. FYI, El Bait Shop's expanded BBQ menu is now available, what a great pairing for dinner. Also on tap should be a "Farmer John Ale" named after John's dad who happens to be a farmer. This beer has barley malt, wheat malt, rye malt, oats and corn. It is balanced by some "earthy" Fuggles and EK Goldings hops. Blended all together with American Ale yeast.

Next week brings Raccoon River Brewery's Dave Coy. Hidden back in the dark recesses of Dave's cooler is the remainder of the Rio Arriba Chocolate Porter, one of my favs. Also making an appearance is the new Saison. Very nice. And there's been a whisper that some Maibock might find it's way in the line up as well. (And as a side note, a new batch of Django is on tap at Raccoon River and is worth the trip to check it out.)

See you at El Bait Shop! 6 pm Thursday!

  Lauri
