[IBU] Anyone use a water filter?

I do the same thing; cartridge filter and an ordinary garden hose. I always flush everything though before starting the brew day...so far, never had a problem with water-caused off flavors.

I brew outdoors with a cartridge filter and regular guarden hose. I usually
run a couple of gallons through the hose onto the lawn before I start
filling the brew kettle to get rid of any water that has been sitting in the
hose for any amount of time. It has worked for me.

I also have an undersink RO system. I'll usually run a couple of gallons
from that into a bucket and mix with filtered water to reduce the level of
minerals in the water used for brewing.
