[IBU] Brewfest

Actually, it isn't a "slower release" from Saylorville. The lowered the
metal gates they built after 93. The spillway is still wide open and
they dropped the gates to keep from damaging the dam. Right now out
flow is close to 1 billion gallons of water an hour. The level of the
river coming into the lake at Stratford is higher than it has ever been.
They sandbagged Hessen House last night along with much of Court Ave.
It would take a considerable amount of water to get to the parking lot,
but it may be messy enough down in that area to cause problems. The
convergence at Sec Taylor looks the worst this morning.

The weather is supposed to be pretty nice on Saturday. So, let's hope
the river stays in its banks.

the river is holding so far this morning....the slower release from
Saylorville may save downtown...think we will know for sure in the next
4-5 hours....

Haven't heard anything yet. I guess we will have to see what the
weather does in the next few days.

So, with all the flooding that is going on in Des Moines, has
anyone heard if the Brewfest is going to be cancelled? At this point, I
would be somewhat surprised if it wasn't.
