For those of you who really are interested in getting the "lift the limit "
legislation to the State House floor, we have our sponsor!
The problem is she is not yet elected and will be in a highly contested race
against the 10 year Republican encumbant this November. If you have any
inclination to support a Democrat to the Iowa State H.O.R, then please
consider contributing time, money, or hosting a fundraiser (beer related of
course) on her behalf
Please check the website for her issues, points, experience etc. at
www.patvanzantehd71.com
Pat VanZante of Pella is running for District 71 towns of Pella, Knoxville,
Otley, Swan, Monroe, and Pleasantville. Jim VanEngelenhoven is the
encumbant and by all accounts on both sides of the fence he just occupies a
seat draws a salary and votes party line and Farm Bureu platform, which is
fine.
Pat has guaranteed me that she will bring the LIft the Limit legislation to
the floor and has already talked Mary Gaskill (a veteran of the State House
) to co-sponsor this bill, so we have a really good chance of getting this
passed (or at least to a vote) if we can get Pat elected! All I ask is that
you take a look at this candidate, and if you can contribute any time money
effort etc, it will be a move in the right step towards having some
representation at the State House level!
P.S. she also has a Myspace and a Facebook page with blogs and experiences
from Iowa travels and life experiences here in iowa, Graduating from
Rooseveldt, her brothers all went to Hoover, blah blah blah
Happy brewing and sorry for the political solicitation, but the Lift the
Limit Legislation is imperative to me trying to open a native brewery here
in Des Moines - I just dont want to water down my recipes!!!!!
