Ahhh... the Kaffee de Hopduvel!

I spent an evening in this charming bar in 1990 and got to try all the best of Belgium.
I stuck to the classics and had a wonderful experience (at least from what my foggy memory retained).
After many many of these 8%+ gems I walked (wandered) to the Ghent research station (where I was staying) at 3 am only to find all the doors locked.
I found my room's window ajar and proceeded to climb in the window only to fall through and onto the floor in a drunken puddle (much to the dismay of my major professor who was not only my roommate but a teetotaler).  I woke up the next morning 1.5 hrs after we were supposed to go to the research plots and my major prof was sitting in a chair next to my bed waiting for me to wake up from my beer coma.  I'm sure he hasn't forgotten and obviously neither have I.

I hope to return to the Hopduvel this November after an eighteen year hiatus. I'll be more responsible this time. ;^)
