[IBU] FW: Fight Cabin Fever at Living History Farms - BEER & BREAD

Hello!

 

Please see the flier below from Living History Farms.  I met with Emily,
the Beer & Bread event coordinator this week.  She showed me the space
and explained the format.  There will be several commercial breweries
and bakeries set-up indoors at the LHF Visitor Center.  It sounds like
it will be very similar to a mini Brew fest.  

 

I am planning to serve some of my homebrew and I'm looking for two to
three more IBU member to serve their beer at this event.  Those who
serve get free admission ($15 savings) (up to four persons can get in
free).  I thought we could also display some grain and hops and the IBU
fliers (Mike Edwards - can you help?)

 

It looks like a great event and I think it's yet another great
opportunity to showcase the IBU.

 

When:              Saturday February 23, 2008

Time:               3:00 - 6:00 p.m.

Join us for a glimpse at romance from the 1800s to present. Readings
from historic journals relating to courtship, love, and marriage will be
presented. Coffee, punch, and desserts of Farms-made chocolate cake or
cherry pie are included in price.  All tickets must be purchased in
advance.

Sample Iowa micro-brewed 
beers along with fresh artisan breads and other goodies. Area home
brewers will be on hand to talk about their craft. Explore the history
of beer in the Midwest with local author Maureen Ogle. She will speak
about and sign copies of her new book, "Ambitious Brew - The Story of
American Beer." All tickets must be purchased in advance.

Living History Farms' "Fight Cabin Fever" series of programs are held at
the museum's Visitor Center, 11121 Hickman Road, Urbandale.  Proceeds
from these fundraising events are used to support the non-profit museum.
Other upcoming "Fight Cabin Fever" events include:

*	Jazz Fever, Saturday, March 8, 7-10 pm.
*	Isle of the Blessed:  A Mythic History of Ireland, Saturday,
March 15, 7-9 pm.
*	Oktoberfest in April, Saturday, April 12, 7-10 pm.
