Steve, can you ensure that we have Maureen Ogle on the agenda for guest
speakers on our agenda this month?
 
For those that don't know, I mentioned trying to coordinate a local beer
author to speak at one of our meetings (Maureen Ogle from Ames who in

two sentence book review: Her book is an American beer history account
starting from the time the Germans introduced the lager strain to
America.  It takes a seemingly controversial approach to some common
perceptions that homebrewers and beer lovers view the brewing giants and
although she wasn't compensated, she seemed to sympathize when
describing the historical decisions of A-B, Miller, Pabst etc with
admoration and not contempt. 

She will speak for about 20min and be available for questions and book
signing.  Get your copy now and bring it to the meetings as she says her
publisher's contract dis-allows her from selling her books in person.
