Hello All,
A friend of mine that owns the Madison County Winery has some extra
carboys he'd like to get rid of...these were used very little (if any)
when he started experimenting with different wine recipes so they are in
excellent condition. Please let me know if you have any interest and I
will get back to him.
Thanks,
Brian

Thanks Brian. I'd like to try and make it if I can.
Would you know of any brewers that might need glass carboys? I have
about 100 gals worth of glass carboys ranging in size from 3 to 7 gals.
They're all in great condition.
Later.
Doug

Guten Tag! The IBU Oktoberfest is coming up on September 29th and will
again be at the Walnut Woods Lodge. The party will get underway around
1:00pm or so, but we get access at 10:00am so I am looking for
volunteers to come out and help get the place set up. Remember that
friends and family are welcome to come on out!
Brian Lenderts has lined up a band to play for a few hours (not an
oom-pah band, I am sad to say) and I am waiting to hear from the park
ranger to see if having live music will be a problem.
David Coy (RRBC) and Jeff Bruning (Full Court Press) have both
volunteered to donate a keg of beer for the event, so the Club will not
be buying a commercial German Oktoberfest beer this year. Thanks, guys!
Whomever has the plates, napkins, etc. from the last shindig (IBU
Open?), please let me know if we need any new supplies.
The party is a potluck, but there are basics we need Club members to
volunteer to bring:
* homebrew
* charcoal and other grilling tools
* aluminum foil for the grill (if needed)
* table linens or plastic tablecloths--something to make cleanup
easier!
* homebrew
* condiments (salt, pepper, ketchup, yellow and brown mustard,
etc.)
* bratwurst
* ground beef/patties
* brat and burger buns
* homebrew
* whatever else someone suggests
If we as members agree to it, maybe the Club could pay for some of these
items?
Other than that stuff, if people could indicate what they are bringing
it might help to avoid overlap of foods. I am going to make German
potato salad again and am going to try to bring sauerkraut as well.
(Here's a link to an excellent sausage company that does mail-order:
https://www.bavariasausage.com/index.php DJ turned me on to them and
they sell some excellent wurst--the weisswurst is especially good!)
That's all I got for now. It's Friday and I'm getting thirsty!
Prost!
Mike
