The cones are ready when the lupulin glands start to turn 
from pale yellow to golden color.

You can set them on newspaper, sheet, etc, in a single 
layer and let the sun dry them.  When they are dry, just 
stuff as many as you can into freezer bags and squeeze all 
the air out.  Store them in the freezer.  preferably non 
cycling (not frost free)

You can store pre-weighed amounts, but beware you need to 
use a scanning spec to estimate the AA% and have moisture 
checked so you can adjust the weight added your recipes 
accordingly.  I did that a couple times anad after that I 
just used them dried without any problems
