The next meeting of the Iowa Brewers Union is Monday, November 19th, 7:00 PM CST at the Holiday Inn on Merle Hay Road. Elections will for president and secretary will occur. This will give everyone the opportunity to brush up on their caucussing skills. Also on the agenda is participation in a brewing demonstration and the 2008 IBU open. The November Brewers of the Month are Doug Ley and Eric Armstrong. The Style of the Month is Belgian and French Ale, BJCP category 16.

Meeting called to order at 7:10 PM by John Martin, President.
September meeting minutes were approved.
Treasurers report We have some money in our account. Details on distributed
to each table.
A motion was passed to move the elections for president and secretary from
December to November. If you have ever thought about holding office, this is
your chance.
There will be an American Homebrewers Association (AHA) Rally, in conjunction
with Teach a Friend to Brew Day, at Raccoon River Brewing Company on November 3,
2007. If you are interested in being involved, email Dave at dcoy at raccoon.com.

A motion was passed to purchase the $50 gift certificate from Beer Crazy as
opposed to Northern Brewer. Beer Crazy is a new brewing supply and specialty
beer store owned by club member Mark Naumann. Grain, brewing supplies, and
craft beer are available at Beer Crazy - http://www.gobeercrazy.com/. Mark has
offered to help promote the IBU through Beer Crazy.
Anyone missing items from the IBU Octoberfest should contact Lauri Glassgow.
Octoberfest cleanup was judged unsatisfactory by the Walnut Woods park ranger.
The club was assed a $15 penalty because of this. There was discussion on how
to avoid this, but no motions were made.
The Brewer of the Month was Bill Stuart. The style was Pilsner. Others
bringing fine malted beverages were:

from Raccoon River Brewing Company, all of whom provided excellent beer for the
Octoberfest.
