New Belgium Brewing will be available August 27th and they will be bringing 3 beers in 22oz bomber bottles. The are bringing Fat Tire, 1554, and Mothership Wit (organic). 90 to 120 days later they will release a draft beer and will continue to trickle new beers into our market. el Bait Shop is having a small celebration for the first day of availability and we are having a big party on Saturday, September 1st. We are going to have a bike ride from el Bait Shop to Coonies in Beaverdale and back again in the afternoon. In the early evening we are we are having a band and there is an I-Cubs game at 7:05. Of course we are going to have plenty of the aforementioned beers and hope to see a bunch of the IBUs out if you can make it.

Jimmy Carter Happy Hour update: I have been working on a logo (which is about done), getting music set up, getting advertising set up, and I need to start contacting anyone who wants to donate a 5 gallon keg of homebrew each week and in turn we can give a $20 gift card each week to the person who donates a keg and the gift certificate can be given to said persons favorite charity. My personal favorite is the "Jeff Bruning Night Out Fund" and you probably have your own favorites. Way back when I first met you folks I think Brian Sabus, John Martin, and Steve Becker had wanted to help get the ball rolling. I am shooting for August 23rd or 30th as the first dates of the JCHH and will be attending the August 20th IBU meeting to discuss. Some folks had mentioned wanting to have a regular DRAW every week and maybe the JCHH works for this? I really want to here what everyone thinks so we can tailor it toward you the homebrewer.

  Thanks for you time.

  See you on the 20th,
  Jeff

It'd be good to see the Belgians and 1554!

I've got a friend that works in the Ames Hy-Vee liquor department, and he
was telling me that Fat Tire should start arriving there sometime in August.
This was about a month ago, and he hasn't told me anything to contradict
this. I see him every Tuesday, so I'll see if he knows any more exact
dates. I really hope they bring in some of New Belgium's other beers as
well.

Fat Tire is coming to Iowa? Where do I find out more (specifically where I
can get it)? No more bootlegging out of KC and Omaha for me!
