April 16, 2007 Meeting Minutes

•	Meeting called to order by President John Martin at 7:07 PM CDT.
•	March minutes were approved.
•	Adam Draeger passed around the Treasurer’s Report.
•	BJCP Exam was held on 4/19/2007.  Several members of the IBU sat for the exam.
•	Brewers of the month – Extract All Categories:
1.	Brian Sabus – Rye Pale Ale
2.	George Patten – American Amber Ale
3.	Steve Becker – Blizzard Brown
4.	Steve Becker – Belgian Brown
5.	Steve Becker – Belgian Bag Brown
•	June meeting at Raccoon River Brewing.  Dave has agreed to give a tour of his operation and might possibly speak either at the June meeting or at a RRBC DRAW.
•	First round of Nationals in Minneapolis 4/21-22.
•	St. Louis Brewfest 5/10-12.
•	Leo placed the clothing order.  If you haven’t already, please pay Adam DraegerASAP.
•	Mike Edwards and John Mogeler still working out bus trip to the Amanas.
•	The opening of Old Chicago has been delayed.  So, the Old Chicago DRAW will be postponed.  Ken Broadhead is on top of this.  
•	The guest speaker of the month, Larry Chase, gave a brief background on his experience, the history of the Granite City operation and the workings of ‘Fermentus Interruptus’.  He graciously invited us to hold a meeting at his Ellsworth, IA facility.  He gave everyone in attendance a business card with a coupon for a free 20 oz Granite City beer or a free sampler flight.
•	A motion was made to send Larry either a T-shirt or a hat in appreciation of his talk.
•	In the meeting after the meeting, Theiren? <please correct me on this> agreed to help Mike get the IBU website running.
•	We also decided to get a DRAW schedule that includes Granite City, Raccoon River, and Court Avenue.  If you have any preferences with dates or days of the week, please respond to the list.
•	Next meeting, Monday May 21, 2007,  7PM CDT.
•	Brewers of the Month for May – English Pale Ale Categories 8A and B
