I will be hosting the Raccoon River Brewers Association December meeting again this year. All of the ABL and IBU members are welcome to attend. It will be Friday December 15th and will start at 3:30 and run throughout the evening. Feel free to grab a beer and stop over. There will be plenty of food available but snacks are always appreciated. Let me know if you have any questions.
Hope to see you there.

Subject: December RRBA meeting
Thanks to everyone for making it over to my place for the meeting last month. Attendance was excellent, with over forty people fitting into the basement during the proceedings. I hope no one went hungry. Thank you Laura for the chips and salsa, Tim Negrete for the shrimp, and Mike Phillips for the chocolate truffle tort. The beer selection was unbelievable. Along with my eight homebrews, we had at least forty commercial offerings. Here's a list from empty bottles I found: Flying Dog Dogtoberfest - Denver, Rogue mocha porter - Oregon, Tinkov pilsner - Russia, Smithwick's Irish Ale, Krusovice Schwartzbier - Czech, Great Divide Saint Bridget's porter - Denver, Radegast lager - Czech, Tiger lager - Singapore, Goose Island IPA, Matilda, and Honker's - Chicago, Podkovan dark - Czech, Anchor Liberty Ale - San Francisco, Millstream Schokolade bock and Oktoberfest - Amana, Fullers ESB - Britain, Bell's porter and best brown ale - Michigan, Sam Adam's black lager and winter lager - maybe Boston, Herold Bohemian bronze lager - Czech, Schlafly stout - St. Louis, Capital Wisconsin amber, Munich dark, Autumnal Fire and Eisphyre - Middleton, WI, Wernesgruner - Germany, Grolsch amber ale - Holland, Henninger - Frankfurt, Germany. Thanks to everyone for bring such an incredible selection of beer. Thanks especially to Mike Phillips who brought what might be called a fantasy cooler. Inside that special insulated box could be found Dogfish Head 120 minute IPA, 60 minute IPA, and Raison D'Etre - Delaware, Great Lakes Nosferatu - Ohio, Red Tail lager - New York, Three Floyds Alpha King - Indiana, Weihenstephaner Korbinian - Germany, New Belgium Fat Tire - Colorado, Victory Storm King Imperial stout - Pennsylvania, and Kulmbacher Eisbock - Germany. I pity those few of you who couldn't be there.
Congratulations go out to Mike Tiernan for placing first, second, and third in three different flights at the THIRSTY classic on November 4. Way to represent, Mike.
This month's meeting will be at the home of Andy and Mary Cleghorn on Friday, 12/15. I guess you could call it our holiday party. Official starting time is 3:30pm. There is no designated style this month, so bring something you like. Feel free to bring any other treats to add to the festivities. Address is 920 52nd place in WDM. Directions - From 50th and Ashworth go south three blocks to Aspen. Go west on Aspen and 52nd place is the second street on the right.
Hope to see you all there, and here's wishing you an enjoyable holiday season.
